IPMUDA Welcomes New Executive Chairman and CEO6th July 2020
IPMUDA Berhad (“IPMUDA”) is pleased to announce the appointment of En Beroz Nikmal bin Mirdin as the Executive Chairman of the Board (“Board”) following the retirement of Tan Sri Abu Sahid bin Mohamed.
IPMUDA also welcomes En Jeefri bin Muhamad Yusup as the new Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) succeeding previous Managing Director, Dato Sim Choo Thiam.
The respective appointments were first announced on June 18, 2020 and are effective immediately.
On behalf of the management and staff, IPMUDA would like to extend its gratitude and appreciation to Tan Sri Abu Sahid bin Mohamed for his leadership and guidance throughout his tenure as Executive Chairman and Dato Sim Choo Thiam for his entrepreneurial vision and contributions.
En Beroz began developing his career path at the System Planning Department of PJM Interconnection LLC, USA, a regional transmission organisation that coordinates the movements of wholesale electricity in some regions of the USA.
After his return to Malaysia in 2007, En Beroz contributed significantly in restructuring and improving efficiencies of Malaysia electric supply industry when he served as the Deputy Chief Engineer at System Operations Department of Tenaga Nasional Berhad and as the Vice President of Investments of Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
Thereafter, with broad experiences in both technical and business portfolios, En Beroz continued his career as the Managing Director and Director of Perak Hydro Renewable Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd and was appointed as the Executive Director at Gunung Capital Berhad to oversee the energy industry masterplan particularly in the State of Perak.
With more than 20 years of experience in diverse portfolio in the energy industry, as IPMUDA’s Executive Chairman, En Beroz will now focus on leading strategic and sustainable initiatives to further develop and expand the company businesses for many years to come.
Prior to his current role as CEO, En Jeefri was the Director of Institutional Broking for Kenanga Investment Bank and founded Malaysia’s first healthcare management company, HMO Pacific Sdn Bhd. He also held a pivotal role in setting up and managing Pusat Perubatan Naluri and Rampai Puteri Medical Centre.
As the new CEO, En Jeefri is determined to uphold IPMUDA’s corporate governance with full integrity, accountability and transparency. With his stewardship, IPMUDA is prepared to face the new growth and challenges of the 21st century.
